Discrimination

After I watched the video, I feel so sad. I don’t know why there are so many people treated unfair and there are lots of people discriminate by them. Now, after I watched the video, I feel so lucky because I am not disable people and I can not image if I were disable people, I can survival in the world. In my view, I always think that everyone in the world is equal, don’t separated by able and disable, black and white, it is very bad idea to make class in the world. Although if I saw the disable people, I will feel uncomfortable bout I never discriminate them in my mind. I just hope them will get better life in the future and do my best to help them to instead of discrimination. I think we should change our mind and also lets more and more people know that discrimination is bad idea. There are millions of people disable and discriminated in the world. I trust each people have their own story, if I have chance, I will get close to them, listen to them and make the society accept by this special group of people. I wish in the future we will not discriminate any of person and each people will live happy and safe in the world.

Research paper

Yesterday when I finished my presentation, I suddenly found that I finished the research part. In level 8, research project has 40% of final marks so it was very important. It also took a long times to do it, almost 4 weeks. Before I did this job, I was very worried about research paper. I never did this kind of work before and I didn’t have confidence to finish it well. The true was I finish it and each of my main idea I corrected at 3 or 4 times. I think after this project I learned lots of things. The first was by this paper I also learned lots of knowledge about my topic. I went to the Concordia University to borrow some books and read very clearly. The second was when I did my paper; I know how to collect information and how to do the project. This was my first time to do research paper and I thought I have confidence to do it well. Good presentation was another thing to make me happy. In this project, each student should spend 20 minutes to present your topic and another 10 minutes for answer the question. I also prepared before I did presentation and I thought my speech was better than before.
I was very proud of myself because I finished research project and by this project I really learned lots of things. With our hard working, nothing was impossible.

Population

I have a big family; my grandparents have four kids, three females and one male. For my parents, they only have me and I don’t have any sister and brother. I real want have sister and brother because I felt lonely when I was young. If I have chance to have my kid, I real want to have at least two kids. The gender is also considered in my mind. Recently people always say that man and woman is equal and has same status, but this mind is very hard to achieve in Chinese’s social reality. We all know that china has a long time history, until now some of the thinking from the old society still have strong power leave in Chinese people’s mind. In the old fashion, men and women are not equal; men are more significant than women. In ancient china, have a son is very important in the family meanwhile if the parents have a son, they will have a big celebration for it. I think this traditional mind affect my view, I like my kids whatever the gender but I real want a son. If I have both son and daughter, it is ok; but if only daughter, I will feel failure. I know it is wrong idea meanwhile it is little look down on female, but it is my real thinking. If I have my kids, I will try my best to let them become real equal to everyone.

China is a big country and the population is the largest in the world. The space and the water is effect people in china have quality of life. In china, because of the huge population, there are more and more people come to big city to make the city more and more crowded. It is very hard to have a good life if you see lots of people around you. It is not convent and it also makes the room rate higher than before. By this reason, lots of people live in urban sprawl to save their money. It makes city become larger and also allured much more people to come in. it’s like a bad circle and make the population higher than before. The second reason is the water. China is a lack of water and it makes population which is live in countryside become poverty. No grain and not minimum needed for survival make them hard to live. For product more food, the family in village should have more kids for support their family. It makes them deeply come to poverty.

In Beijing, the rural areas and urban areas is little different because in Beijing the average of people’s life is better than other place in china. I am not worried about population problems effect Beijing citizen’s quality of life.

Animal testing

It is a sadly topic and I think I never want to see it again. After two opposite videos, I suddenly find that I am lost in this complicate and widely area. I can not say if animal testing is right or not. When I say yes, it means I ignore that animals are tortured and punished by people through inhumane ways. If I say no, it means more and more people dead by cancer because without animal testing, human can not invent useful medicine to solve this serious problem. Now I just introduce these two videos and you can give your own answer if animal testing is right.

In the first video, it told us that more than 7 millions people dead in cancer in the world during 2007 and 5700 people dead from AIDS every day. There are 33.2 million people now live with HIV and this population will be increased in the future. It is very terrible and how can we save their life? We need to invent a new medicine to help people and cure this disease. We need animal testing and it helps scientists to know that if this kind of new medicine is useful and no side effect for human body. We all know that it is bloody to animals but we have to do it. There are no substitutes better than animals because some of characters and traits in animals are same to human. In this video, we have to use animal testing until we can solve AIDS and cancer problem.

The second video is opposite to first one. In this video, people should stop it and protect animal’s life. There are some picture showed in this video and each picture moved us a lot. I don’t want to see it again because I can not accept their poor situation which is animals should face to. In this video, its appeal for stop animal testing makes lots of people agree its opinion.

In my own opinion, I agree with animal testing. I know it is unfair for them but everyone know that we have to continue it. Compare animal and human, we all know which one is important. Of course our life is important than animal’s life. I think I can do something good for animals to pay this bill. We can feed animals at home and donate money for animal foundation to protect animal. My suggestion is we can also stop eating any meat in our live and it is a best way to protect animals.

Research paper

This week we will begin to prepare our personal research paper. My topic is talking about smallpox and it affect to Europe. For this research, I spend a long time to prepare it. Last week, I went to Concordia library to collect all information about smallpox. The wish more than I can image, I got at least 50 books in Concordia library. I spent 2 days to read the instruction about these books and to figure out if it was useful for my topic. Our research only needs 13 pages, at first when I heard this demand, the first mind opinion in my mind was impossible. I never tried to finish this long article. When I got these books, I thought it was very simply thing. This research spent 4 weeks and I tried my best to finish it.
When I did this job, I also learned lots of information about my topic-smallpox. I also got lots of massages about historical and political of Europe. I also interested in Europe religion. It was different than china, by compare this two style, it was easy for me to understand the manner and culture about Europe. I like this work, I can learn different cultures in the world and it is also a chance for me to touch different countries.

An excellent museum experience

This Tuesday we went to the museum which located in McGill University. Before we went there, we just studied evolution in the class. By this trip, we got lots of information and it was connect to our topic. The museum have three flowers, thousands of fossils put in it to make sure everyone can see it. The museum was very adapted to our evolution topic. We got much information about Darwin and it was my first time to see the famous book “The Origin of Species”, which written by Darwin in 1859. When Darwin wrote his book, he got much helps by many scientists. In the museum, I saw that Darwin’s letter when he received the helps form other scientists and responded by grateful letters. When I saw these letters, I thought that I had a situation which Darwin was writing in my mind. I was interested in some Chinese stuff I found in the third flowers in the museum. I was surprised when I saw the Chinese things, it appeared in Canada museum more than I can image. It was a good chance to let more and more people know Chinese culture. There were also have lots of things I first time saw in my life. The exhibits were widely in the different areas in the world. I was very scared about mummy and even I don’t think it was a good idea to put it in the museum. This was not respect to dead person. This trip was enrichment for me; I got much information about culture in different countries. Recommend visiting is good idea, in my view this museum like a open window that gives me chance to connect to the world.
